What’s New in Fillers

Michelle has recently attended the “Angles and Curves of Beauty” Restylane Asia Pacific Esthetic Master Class held Hong Kong. Safety in injecting was one of the biggest issues. Ask most who inject filler about permanent fillers and the answer is always “permanent filler – permanent problem”. Restylane is the safest of products to inject. It is the least modified of all hyaluronic acid fillers (only 1% modification) – this keeps it simple, less reactions, redness and inflammation. They now come with Lidocaine (an anaesthetic agent) for more comfortable injecting.

SkinMedica

SkinMedica is a hero range like no other... the Rolls Royce of skin management is here. Formulated by Dr Fitzpatrick, a leading dermatologist to the stars, it is a clinically proven range containing over 110 growth factors, matrix proteins, soluble collagen and antioxidants. Nouricel-MD is a patented tissue nutrient solution that has a devoted following of celebrity fans. The future... is now.

Introducing Restylane Vital Light
A Groundbreaking New Beauty Treatment For Skin Rejuvenation.

The harsh Australian climate and the natural ageing process can take its toll on skin, with moisture loss responsible for the development of lines, wrinkles and an overall reduction in the skin’s elasticity, tone and smoothness. No longer do women have to put up with this and accept it simply as part of growing older, thanks to Restylane Vital Light, a new evolution in skin restoration and rejuvenation from Q-Med, producer of the world’s leading dermal filler, Restylane.

This revolutionary beauty treatment delivers deep dermal hydration, rejuvenating delicate skin areas such as the face, neck, hands and décolletage. It gives the skin a lustrous tone and a fresh natural look, due to restored hydro-balance and improved elasticity and smoothness and increased skin firmness. How does it work? Young skin is plump, firm, smooth and moisturised thanks to Hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring sugar compound that attracts and holds moisture in the dermis. Hyaluronic acid depletes as we age causing wrinkles and lines to form. Delivered via a series of tiny injections, Restylane Vital Light restores Hyaluronic acid under the surface of the skin, providing deep dermal hydration, and in the process creates volume and improves skin quality for a fresh, natural look. While the skin will feel and appear hydrated on the outside, on the inside Restylane Vital Light also strengthens skin tissue and helps the body regenerate elastin and collagen to support the skin from within.

According to one of Australia’s leading plastic surgeons, topical lotions can contain low levels of Hyaluronic acid, however it is only when the acid acts below the surface that truly noticeable effects can be seen and felt. Perfect for delicate areas including décolletage, neck, face and even the backs of sun damaged hands,Restylane Vital Light can provide clear and visible benefits, along with plump, moisturised and healthy skin. The restoration of Hyaluronic acid in the dermis is simple, safe and clinically proven with effects lasting for up to twelve months, with Hyaluronic acid naturally disappearing after this period. Restylane Vital Light is a smooth gel that easily adjusts to surrounding tissue to pamper delicate skin, rejuvenating the skin from within. It is an injectable beauty product based on non-animal stabilized Hyaluronic acid (NASHA). Clients will follow a course of three treatments at 2–4 week intervals, with each treatment taking approximately 30 minutes. For lasting results, the treatment should be repeated every 6–12 months but individual treatment cycles can be tailored to individual needs. This procedure is very popular in Europe in association with skin tightening as shown to us by Prof. G Sito, a Plastic Surgeon from Italy.

Adelaide Cosmetex Meeting 2010

The big question was ‘do you fill the lines running from the nose to the mouth or the cheeks. Cheek filler gives a more youthful appearance and helps give soft tissue support where there is ‘flatness’. It also takes away from the tired look around the eyes. So it achieves multiple results, not just in one area. To find out more, please call to make a time with Diane or Michelle.

Skin talk at the Adelaide Conference Dr Lesley Baumann was a guest speaker at the conference and could not stress enough the use of SPF in our daily routine. Remember UV exposure will undo all the good that our treatments and products do for you.

The essentials of skin were also discussed. UV protection is mandatory as well as:

New Skin Care

We are now also offering ACTINICA Actinica is a liposomal sunscreen. It targets the sun protection filters in the upper layers of the skin-directing the protective properties to the most effective place. The UV filters work in 3 ways to absorb, reflect and scatter UV radiation. Daily use of Actinica SFP 30+ broad spectrum sunscreen helps reduce the risk of some skin cancers and can aid in the prevention of sunspots and premature ageing. Cost $66.
